A Home for Advice on Indoor Plants
Hi, I’m Rachel, the creator of The Healthy Houseplant. I’m here to help you liven up your home with beautiful greenery and flowers. The Healthy Houseplant offers detailed, specific, and approachable answers to questions about your favorite indoor plants. We trawl the web for the questions that everyone’s asking about houseplants; then we give you the answers. It’s as simple as that.
Detailed: If you’re worried your ZZ Plant might be succumbing to root rot, you want in-depth information on what to do about it. A single paragraph in a 300-word “care guide” won’t cut it. Our posts give you detailed solutions to your houseplant problems, along with extensive background information.
Specific: It’s easy to find general info pages about popular houseplants or walkthroughs of plant care techniques. What’s not always easy is finding answers to specific questions about specific plants. We center each of our articles on a particular kind of houseplant, so you can find information that’s relevant to your own indoor garden.
Approachable: We don’t assume anything about your level of houseplant knowledge. We use clear, straightforward language and open each article with the answer to your question; if you want more detail, you can read on from there. When we have to use a technical term, we explain what it means.
Houseplant Help For Everyone
Many people give up on houseplants after having one or two die on them. I’m here to tell you that nobody has a “black thumb” – no, not even you, Person Who Couldn’t Keep A Cactus Alive. With the right advice, you too can have a home filled with healthy green friends.
This site tackles advanced topics like propagating Anthuriums from cuttings or braiding Money Trees, but presents them in a way that even beginners can understand. I hope that regardless of your experience level, you’ll come away from our articles feeling more informed and confident about growing indoor plants.
A Little About Me
My house is so full of plants that my friends get worried for my sanity – but they come to me when their own houseplants run into trouble, so WHO’S CRAZY NOW?! My current favorites are the Money Tree my grandmother gave me, the Euphorbia Trigona cactus that was my roommate in college, and the Bleeding-Heart Vine that belonged to my mother-in-law’s mother.

I ran an eCommerce business for years before deciding to combine my entrepreneurial skills with my passion for plants. I sold my company and started blogging full-time, and now I get to make a living by sharing my love of making things grow. I also run our sister site, Rooting For Blooms; check it out if you like outdoor plants too!
